Switching to T-mobile from ATT
Today I want to record the experience of using ATT and T-mobile.
ATT Plan:
- Our family plan, a post-paid plan, had created in ATT with 10 people (now 7 people) since Aug 14, 2014.
- ATT Monthly bill = data $120 + $15 per line + $5 tax per line .
Note that original data price was $100 in 2014. - ATT provides us 35G high speed data for all lines. $15 per G data when exceeds 35G usuage.
T-mobile Plan:
- I created the new plan in T-mobile on March 26, 2023.
- T-mobile bill = 260 for 7 lines, Magenta® MAX.
- unlimited premium data
- 40GB high-speed mobile hotspot
- unlimited text & talk
- Unlimited text and up to 5GB of high-speed data, then unlimited data at up to 256Kbps in 215+ countries and destinations
- 3rd line (0256) is free and T-mobile may give us another free line (5872).
- $800 phone credit per line when switching to T-mobile from ATT. For iphones, we need to trade in the old iphones and it must be later than iphone X.
- The plan must be active for 24 months if we get $800 credit; otherwise, there is a balance for the phone.
- T-mobile bill = 200 for 7 lines, Magenta.
- 100GB premium data
- 5GB high-speed mobile hotspot
- unlimited text & talk
- Unlimited text and up to 5GB of high-speed data in 11 countries, then unlimited data at up to 256Kbps in 215+ countries and destinations
- 3rd line is free.
- No phone credit for switching.

Phone Orders:
- I had ordered one Samsung galxy 23 ultra for 9658 and one Samsung Galaxy 23 for 8280 on April 2 and received on April 4. For more details, please refer to the table below.
- I had ordered one iphone 14 pro max and one Apple watch SE for Wendy on April 5, 2023, which is the last day of the promotion.
- For iPhone 14 Pro Max order on line 3760, it is a trade-in order and the old phone is iPhone XR ($80). T-mobile issued $80 to my account but with a different line 9658, $50 for one payment and $30 for the last payment.
